As the spiritual home of the Ryder Cup, we are challenged every day to ensure the quality and service we provide to guests remains world class.”

“Our Director of Golf, Chris Reeve, has excelled at ensuring standards across all of our golfing facilities, including the PGA National Golf Academy are first class. Angus Macleod and his green keeping team have done a remarkable job on all three courses, in particular the conditioning of The Brabazon is outstanding, ensuring a true Ryder Cup experience every day of the week, every week of the year – and I am so proud they have been voted England’s Best Golf Course” added Stewart.

THE BELFRY SCOOPS TWO MAJOR AWARDS

The Belfry Hotel & Resort has had another outstanding result at the annual World Travel Awards Europe Gala Ceremony, which took place on Friday 30th June in Athens, Greece, cementing its reputation as a world-class leading resort.

Regarded as ‘the Oscars’ of the travel industry, the awards acknowledge winners that truly set the benchmark to the rest of the industry and reward the top venues and as such The Belfry Hotel & Resort has proven it’s at the forefront of the conference and resort market once again.

Voting was based on its high-quality facilities and leisure attractions, coupled with services of a similar standard, with the victory underlining The Belfry’s status amongst Europe’s elite.

Gail Aldridge, Marketing Director stated “To retain the title of ‘England’s Leading Resort’ recognises that The Belfry is leading the way in British hospitality, offering world-class facilities and an outstanding level of service, which is something which we are extremely proud of.”

SILVER AT THE INTERNATIONAL SALON CULINAIRE

The Belfry Hotel & Resort is pleased to announce that Apprentice Chef Ben Webster, from its signature Ryder Grill restaurant, recently took home a silver medal at the International Salon Culinaire competition.

The International Salon Culinaire is the UK’s largest and most prestigious Chef competition programme. Showcasing terrific skills and talent within the culinary industry, the contest comprises of four competition categories; Salon Display, Skills Theatre, Live Theatre and La Parade des Chefs, the latter being the category in which Webster won silver in the College Canapé Competition.

The dish that ultimately brought The Belfry man his success was a curry macaroon, goat’s cheese mousse and mango chutney gel that came from some rigorous brain-storming with Ryder Grill Head Chef Ryan Swift. Together they came up with a Birmingham street food theme, inspired by the fact the Balti Curry was originally invented in the West Midlands.

“It is a real honour to win the Silver Medal at this year’s International Salon Culinaire. The quality on show from all the teams taking part was incredible, which makes this even more special” remarked Webster afterwards. “The competition has massively improved my organisational skills and has changed my outlook on the importance of being on the ball and ready for anything.’’

Having been at The Belfry for over two years now, Webster has gained experience around all sections of The Ryder Grill, as well as working in pastry banqueting and afternoon tea departments at the award-winning resort. Under the tutelage of Head Chef Ryan Swift and Head Pastry Chef Dean Cole, Webster has certainly learned from two of the best around.

“The Belfry has massively improved my culinary career in many aspects” added Webster, “I've learnt speed is crucial whilst still maintaining the highest possible standards. The resort has really helped me grow as both a Chef and an individual and if someone told me two years ago I would be where I am now, I wouldn't have believed them.”

“I must say a huge thanks to The Belfry Chefs for taking the time to influence me on my final dish and for their support and allowing me to use the resources at the hotel to practise.”

With three top class restaurants including the a la carte Ryder Grill, as well as Sam’s Club House and Rocca’s Pizza Pasta restaurant, The Belfry Hotel & Resort ensures quality dining for all those staying there.

Having been named England’s Leading Resort at The World Travel Awards for three consecutive years, achieving the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and an AA Rosette; The Belfry and The Ryder Grill has developed a name for excellence in the hospitality industry, attracting visitors from all over the world.

Set against the backdrop of 550 acres of North Warwickshire countryside, yet still just 20 minutes outside of Birmingham city centre, The Belfry Hotel & Resort is a stunning setting and is the perfect destination for couples or families looking to make use of the vast number of leisure facilities, as well as a hotly sought-after location for conferences, meetings and events.

The Belfry is no stranger to high-profile awards. At the 2017 World Travel Awards, it was named ‘England’s Leading Resort’ and ‘England’s Leading Conference Hotel’, whilst at The World Golf Awards the resort claimed three accolades: ‘England’s Best Golf Hotel’, ‘England’s Best Golf Course’ and ‘Europe’s Best Golf Hotel’. THE BELFRY SHORTLISTED FOR TWO AWARDS

The Belfry Hotel & Resort is once again in the running for multiple industry accolades after it was shortlisted for the ‘Excellence in Hospitality’ and ‘Sales & Marketing’ award categories for the Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Awards 2018.

The awards – which take place on 19th April – celebrate and showcase the best of business and enterprise throughout the Birmingham region. As part of ten awards handed out, the ‘Excellence in Hospitality’ and ‘Sales & Marketing’ accolades recognise businesses that have set exceptionally high standards in their respective categories.

“Our sales and marketing team continue to raise the bar when it comes to positioning the resort to our target markets,” added Kumar. “This has been reflected with record business generated for The Belfry in 2017.”

Both Birmingham Chambers of Commerce awards also highlight the significant strides The Belfry has made in the last 12 months. At the end of 2017, its customer satisfaction rating – based on feedback from hotel, golf, spa and conference guests – grew significantly. The Belfry has seen the benefits of many fully-integrated sales and marketing campaigns that have delivered record numbers to its hotel, golf, spa and conference facilities over the last year.

The Belfry’s nomination for both awards reflects the recent ‘Gold Flag’ status it received from the 59club, the market-leader in performance and customer service measurement for golf, leisure, spa and events. In August last year, The Belfry was ranked in the top three European golf destinations for customer service following a monthly mystery visit by 59club.

The Belfry has been no stranger to major award wins in recent times. “Moving forward, we will continue to invest significantly in staff training to further improve the service across our golf, hotel, spa, F&B and conference facilities,” added Reeve.
