How can I apply to be part of The Belfry team?
Visit Current Vacancies to view all positions available and to apply online. If you can’t find a role that’s right for you, you can apply via our Talent Pool.
Under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to work within the UK. We therefore ask everyone applying to provide documented evidence of eligibility. If you have any further queries, simply contact us on 0844 234 7785.
What can I expect from the recruitment process?
By inviting all prospective candidates to apply for vacancies via our website, we’re able to respond to applications promptly and efficiently. You'll need to complete your personal details and also upload an up-to-date CV. We acknowledge every online candidate who applies by email.
What happens next?
Once we’ve received your application, and the closing date for the vacancy has passed, we’ll assess your suitability against the relevant Job Specification.
We aim to process all applications within four weeks of the closing date. So you should hear the outcome of your application from the Human Resources team, either via email or letter, within this four-week timeframe.
What happens if my application is successful?
Should we want to consider you for a role, we’ll ask you to attend a first stage competency-based interview with the recruiting manager and panel member. If you’re successful with this, we may, in some cases, invite you to a second interview before making a final decision.
We see the recruitment process as ‘two-way’ and value your input throughout. After all, we want you to make sure that we’re the right choice for you – as much as you’re the right choice for The Belfry.
What should I do if I don't hear anything?
Although we try our best to respond to all applications within four weeks, sometimes we’re unable to do so due to the volume we receive. This means that if you’ve not heard from us within four weeks after the closing date for the role you’ve applied for, your application has been unsuccessful this time round. Unfortunately – again due to the volume of applications we receive – we’re unable to provide detailed feedback if you’re unsuccessful at application stage.
I have been invited to attend an interview, where should I report?
Please go to The Belfry’s main reception desk unless we ask you otherwise.
What should I do to prepare for an interview?
We use a specific form of interviewing that’s ‘competency-based’. This means we’ll be asking you questions that specifically ask you to demonstrate your work experience in your answer. No tricks to trip you up – or catch you out. We just want to understand your strengths and learn what you can bring to our business.
What should I include on my CV?
Your CV should provide a potential employer with an accurate and concise summary of your previous work history. Ideally your CV should:
Be no longer than 2 A4 pages
Indicate your personal details including your email, address and telephone number
List your work experience in order with your current/most recent role first
Briefly highlight your skills and abilities within each role detailed and -
Briefly list your hobbies and interests.
Do I need to fill out all of the application form?
The application form is a tool to sell your skills, experiences and abilities as well as provide the company with the relevant information they need in order to consider your application. Without all the information your application will be incomplete and may also be missing key information. Therefore, we advise that you complete all the sections of the application form.
What should I wear to an interview?
First impressions count, so our advice is to dress smart but remember, the interview is about getting to know you based on your skills and experience.
Where can I park?
There is free on site parking spaces available. As a prospective interviewee you are able to access any of the car parks. Should you be successful in your application then you will be informed of where staff are able to park, free of charge.
Is there any public transport nearby?
Check out our Location & Local Attractions page for information on transport links and how to get here.
Do you offer work placements?
Whilst The Belfry is committed to learning and development, unfortunately we are unable to offer work experience placements at the present time. We are however in the process of reviewing our work placement provisions, and so watch this space for any changes.
Do you use agencies?
As a business we very rarely work with recruitment agencies and undertake all our own in-house recruitment. Please be aware we do have a strict PSL in place and are not currently reviewing this.
Any applications submitted by an agency who have not been formally assigned to a recruitment campaign will not be processed or valid.
